Background

Felda Shleak is a government minister with centuries of experience—literally. He has watched revolutions rise and fall across his impossibly long career. He’s very good at making sure they fall.

As the public face of certain Parliament initiatives, Felda projects an image of elegant competence. What lies beneath that image is far darker.

Xylasian physiology gives Felda an otherworldly quality:

Personality

His cruelty is refined, surgical. He doesn’t rage. He calculates. Every action serves the Parliament’s long-term interests as he defines them.

Felda oversees Project Renewal—a Confederation initiative whose true purpose is known only to the Parliament’s inner circle. The trafficking conspiracy Robert exposed connects to Renewal. The horrors he’s discovered are only the beginning.

What Project Renewal truly is, what the Parliament wants from it, and how far Felda will go to protect it—these questions drive the series toward its dark conclusion.

Philosophy

Felda believes the Parliament’s rule is necessary. The masses cannot govern themselves. Order requires hierarchy. Some must sacrifice so that civilization can continue.

He doesn’t see himself as evil. He sees himself as a gardener, pruning what must be pruned so the garden can flourish.
