Mool
Mool
Mining colony. Poverty trap. Where Robert Fannec discovered the truth and lost everything.
Overview
Mool is an Outer Colony world dominated by mineral extraction. The Confederation classifies it as an industrial asset. Those who live there know it as a place people come to work, suffer, and—if they’re lucky—eventually escape.
Robert Fannec grew up in Mool’s undercity. He was working as a drone maintenance technician when he discovered the disappearances that would change his life.
Bethada City
The primary settlement on Mool, Bethada City exists to serve the mining operations. Everything revolves around extraction—the work shifts, the housing blocks, the bars where exhausted workers spend their wages.
The Undercity
Below the main levels lies the undercity—cramped warrens where the poorest workers live. Robert’s childhood happened here, between shifts and scraping for survival.
Surface Operations
Massive processing facilities dominate the landscape above. The air tastes of metal. The sky is grey with particulates. Everything is covered in fine dust.
The Disappearances
People vanished from Mool’s poorest districts. Not occasionally—regularly. The authorities showed no interest. The media never reported it. Life continued as if nothing was wrong.
Robert noticed. Robert asked questions. Robert discovered the trafficking conspiracy that connected Mool’s missing people to something far larger and more terrible.
His investigation led to Phineas Foreman, a local crime boss. It led to evidence of Confederation involvement. It led to Robert becoming GreenNet—and the most wanted man in the galaxy.
Significance
Mool represents everything wrong with the Confederation’s treatment of Outer Colonies:
- Exploitation without investment
- Poverty maintained for cheap labor
- Human lives valued only for productivity
- Suffering ignored by distant authorities
For Robert, Mool is both origin and wound. The place that shaped him. The place that took his parents. The place where he found Ace and the Acus’Rube. The place he can never really leave behind.
