Spacecraft
Spacecraft
Ships are more than transportation. They’re homes, weapons, lifelines, and symbols of freedom—or authority.
Civilian Vessels
Personal Craft
Shuttles - Single-system transportation for individuals or families. Limited or no fold capability.
Runabouts - Small fold-capable vessels for 1-4 people. Private transportation with limited range.
Yachts - Luxury personal vessels. Status symbols for the wealthy with variable capabilities.
Commercial Craft
Freighters - Cargo haulers of various sizes. The backbone of interstellar trade.
Transports - Passenger vessels with various class levels. Scheduled routes between systems.
Courier Ships - Fast, small vessels for priority delivery. Often converted racers.
Industrial Vessels - Mining ships, construction platforms, salvage and recovery craft.
Military Vessels
Capital Ships
Battleships - Largest combat vessels with heavy weapons and fleet command capability.
Cruisers - Primary combat vessels balancing speed and firepower. Backbone of fleet operations.
Destroyers - Fast attack vessels for anti-ship and escort roles.
Support Vessels
- Carriers deploying fighter squadrons
- Logistics ships for supply and repair
- Troop transports for ground force delivery
SLPS Vessels
Patrol Craft - Small, fast vessels for routine patrol and interception.
Enforcement Cutters - Larger patrol vessels with heavier armament.
Command Ships - Headquarters vessels for coordination and detention.
Essential Systems
Every vessel requires:
- Propulsion - Fold drives for interstellar travel, sublight engines for in-system
- Life Support - Atmospheric recyclers, temperature control, gravity generation
- Navigation - Nav computers, sensor arrays, communication systems
- Transponders - Required identification for legal operation
Military vessels add weapons, armor, shields, and combat systems.
Ship Identification
All legal vessels broadcast identity continuously via transponders. The system enables tracking by authorities—and makes false transponders valuable on the black market.
Spacecraft appear throughout the Fannec Records series, from the modified freighter that serves as the crew’s home to the warships that hunt them.
